Buck up folks, Chris and Emma have been together over 6 years, hence the long story! Chris and Emma met on a random night out in December 2018. Emma went out with some girlfriends, and Chris went out with some of his buddies. Our friend groups got together as we had mutual friends. Chris would say Emma made the first move, but anyone who was there knows it was definitely Chris. The group spent many hours together that night and into the early morning of the next day. Chris asked Emma for her phone number that night which led to lots of texts over the next few weeks while Chris was away at work. Chris and Emma planned their first date for when Chris got back to Prince George. On the way home from work, on a snowy night, Chris got into an accident which left him without a vehicle. Emma offered to pick him up for their first date. Chris was supposed to text Emma the night of their date to confirm a time; however, in typical Chris fashion, he lost his phone. He had not yet memorized Emma's phone number, which led to him ALMOST standing her up. Luckily he was able to get her phone number from a friend and they had their first date, just later in the night than originally planned. Despite a series of unfortunate events, that first night was memorable enough that they were both eager to make that first date happen. From then on they were almost inseparable. Over the 6 years they have been together, Chris and Emma have gone from living in a basement suite, to Emma's parents basement, to buying their beautiful home together. Emma has learned to accept that fishing will always be Chris's first love and Chris has learned to accept that he will have very little closet space. Chris and Emma have also been fortunate enough to grow their family by 16 paws, Bronco, Oliver, Bok & Sally who they love dearly. Emma was always adamant that the pets would go by her last name until marriage, so up until now they have had the last name Bass. When Chris finally proposed to Emma, he also let the pets know that is was time to go to the vet and change their last name as well. Chris, Emma, and the fur family are very excited to take on this next chapter in marriage.
